How to Remove Chocolate Stains
Life can be very sweet especially if you have chocolates by your
side. No matter what their age is, you will never ever come across
someone who does not like to eat chocolate. Chocolates are considered as
the most popular delicacies all over the world. Moreover, it is also
considered as the toughest stain to remove if it touches a fabric like
your child’s favorite shirt or your living room’s expensive carpet. That
is why mothers are very careful when they are feeding their children,
especially with chocolate.
Most people would easily give up on chocolate stains since they think
that it is hopefully to get rid of. But there are actually several stain
removal methods widely used all over the world so that the tough stain
can be taken care of.
If the chocolate has stained your child’s clothes, here are some of the
things that you must do in order to get rid of the stain easily.
- You may scrape the stain using a blunt knife. It would be really
helpful if you would apply an ice first on the spot where there is
chocolate stain. The ice would make the chocolate stain brittle and
hard so that it would be easier for you to scrape it off.
- Use a liquid detergent and rub it on the stained area for a
couple of minutes. Leave the cloth for 5 minutes.
- Soak the cloth with chocolate stain for about ten to fifteen
minutes in cold water. You can do this again and again until the
stain eventually loosen. Rub the spot where there is chocolate stain
after every three to four minutes.
- Thoroughly rinse afterwards.
- Do the process again until you have successfully taken out the
chocolate stain from the fabric.
But clothes are not the only thing that a chocolate stain may spoil.
If you have kids around the house or simply have clumsy adult guests
around the house, it is also possible that your chocolates may stain and
ruin your carpet as well. In this case, it would be very difficult if
you hand wash the carpet to get rid of the stain yourself. There are two
methods that you can do in order to easily take the chocolate stain from
your carpet while maintaining its appearance.
You can do the stain removal method that was mentioned before. Use ice
to harden the stain and use blunt knife to scrape the hardened chocolate
stain. If the carpet is small enough to be placed in your sink or any
cleaning area, simply pour hot water on the spot. This would help
dissolve the remaining chocolate stain in your carpet. However, if the
carpet is too big for your cleaning area, just keep on applying ice and
scraping off the stain with a knife.
You may also opt to use this second method instead. First, you must try
to remove as much chocolate stain as you can by using your hand. But be
careful not to increase the size of the chocolate stain when you do so.
Dissolve the neutral detergent in one cup of hot water and blot it on
the stain. Rinse it using a clean cloth and cold water. If necessary,
repeat the whole procedure until the chocolate stain finally disappear.
