How to Remove Coffee Stains

If you ask someone to get a cup of coffee, this simply means that you want to have a small talk while you feel relaxed while sipping the world’s most favorite drink. But coffee can be taken as well even in the most intense and busiest moments. Almost everybody loves to drink coffee. That is why it can spill and stain almost anywhere and anything as well.

If you are a coffee fanatic, it is likely that you can walk and drive while drinking coffee. Hence, you are also prone to coffee spills as well. If you accidentally spilled your coffee in your office outfit, here are the things that you must do in order to get rid of the coffee stain.

  1. Using cold water, rinse the stain from the garment. Some people would even let the water run through the fabric until most of the stain disappears.
  2. Take a few drops of your liquid detergent and gently rub it in the stained spot of the garment. Leave it for at least five to 10 minutes or until the coffee stain fully disappears.
  3. If in case the coffee stain has already dried or it is an old stain, soak the fabric in cold water along with the liquid detergent.
  4. Rinse it thoroughly using cold water.
  5. If there are still coffee stains left on the fabric, rub the liquid detergent on the stained spot and then soak it in lukewarm water. Let it stand for ten to fifteen minutes.

However, not all the time that the coffee stains can wait. Say for example, you are in a café and suddenly coffee spilled on you. Of course, you do not have the detergent along with you all the time. What you must do during this scenario is to go to the ladies or men’s room and excuse yourself. By using a toilet paper simply blot the stained area with lukewarm water. Just be patient and do this for several times until the stain disappears. Once you have removed the coffee stain for your shirt, use another clean tissue paper so you can dab the area until it dries. But not all the time that the entire stain will disappear. Just make sure you will do the first coffee stain removal method afterwards once you got home. Do not let the stain stay in your garment for long. This may become a tough stain to remove and eventually be a permanent stain on the fabric.

On the other hand, if you spilled your coffee on the carpet or rug, here are the things that you must do in order to get rid of the coffee stain.

  1. Use a clean cloth and blot as much coffee stain as you can.
  2. Pour small amounts of cold water on the stained area and blot the stain using another piece of clean cloth.
  3. Try to use your handy carpet stain remover if you have one available.
  4. If there are still some coffee stains left or you do not have a carpet stain remover, pour a mild bleaching detergent or a vinegar on the stained spot. Blot it on the area and leave it for about ten to fifteen minutes.
  5. Rinse with cold water by blotting the spot with sponge. Make sure that you rinse it thoroughly so that you would not leave any trace of the vinegar.
